Personally, the trailer looks way more promising than almost any of the Marvel films, perhaps aside from Winter Soldier.  People always complain now that superhero movies are all too dark and moody.  They want more humor like Guardians.  Honestly, the first two movies were very light-hearted, yet they were laughably bad.  That's not what makes or breaks a movie.  In essence, Fantastic Four for me has always been about the exploratory nature and wonders of space and science, personified by four uniquely-empowered close friends.  Simple, but that's all that matters to me.  It's up to the filmmakers to implement whatever else's necessary for me to care about these four individuals and their adventures.   If it needs to be funny, that's cool.  If it needs to be moody, so be it.  As long as the movie can channel that essence for me, I'm sold.

Too many comic book fans hate on something before they have even seen it.  Having no interest in the film is one thing (maybe if "Fantastic Four" just isn't your thing in general), but the last year of reading about the vehement built-in hatred for this movie based on casting is just so typical of how biased some people are.  And giving the rights back to Marvel doesn't necessarily make things better.  Nobody's a sure thing.  Thor 2 and Iron Man 2, 3 come to mind.  And being the far and away worst of the bunch, I am still trying to erase Iron Man 3 from my mind.

Not saying the new movie won't ultimately suck, but damn, at least give it a chance.
